Yoothemes.com: Keine Zeilenumbrüche bei Nano3

Bildschirmfoto 2016-07-14 um 10.01.13Ich bau gerade mal wieder eine neue Webseite und dabei habe ich wieder eines der schönen WordPress-Themes von „Yoothemes.com“ verwenden. Das Layout nennt sich „Nano3“ und ist ein sehr minimalistisches, aber trotzdem schönes Theme.

Allerdings hatte ich das Problem, dass meine manuell eingefügten Zeilenumbrüche ignoriert und im Frontend nicht angezeigt wurden.

Es hat eine Weile gedauert, bis ich eine Lösung für dieses Problem hatte und sinnigerweise fand ich diese im Support-Forum von Yoothemes. 😉

Der Post ist zwar schon von 2012, hat aber genau die Info enthalten, die ich benötigte.

Man muss nämlich in den generellen (allgemeinen) Theme-Einstellungen die Option „Enable the wpautop function which automatically formats your Posts“ aktivieren.

Yootheme: Twitter-Widget aktualisiert die Timeline nicht mehr

Ich setze seit geraumer Zeit die Themes und teilweise auch die Widgets von Yootheme.Com hier auf diesem Blog ein. Unten, in der Nähe des Footers, findet ihr im Normalfall eine kleine Twitter-Timeline, die meine letzten drei Tweets darstellen sollte. Das funktionierte auch bislang wunderbar, doch nun ist mir aufgefallen, dass dort Tweets stehen, die schon mehrere Tage alt sind und sich auch nicht mehr aktualisieren. Wenn ich auf die Webseite von Twitter.Com schaue und dort in mein Profil (dort, wo man die eigenen Tweets sieht), dass sind alle Tweets vorhanden. Muss also wohl an dem Widget liegen.
Nach etwas googlen hab ich die Lösung im Support-Forum von Yootheme gefunden.

Dort ist der spannende Teil das, was in der twitter.php an Code ausgetauscht werden muss. Ich hab dies bei mir gemacht und siehe da, die Timeline aktualisiert sich wieder. 😉
In dem Supprt-Artikel ist etwas missverständlich beschrieben, wo sich die Datei (twitter.php) befindet, so dass ich da erst etwas suchen musste. Damit ihr es etwas leichter habt, hier also nun der vollständige Pfad:
Wordpress-Root-Verzeichnis: /wp-content/plugins/widgetkit/widgets/twitter

Introducing Widgetkit 1.2

Introducing Widgetkit 1.2: „Introducing Widgetkit 1.2

Today we have a brand new Widgetkit 1.2 release prepared for you! It’s a short follow up to our Widgetkit 1.1 release 3 weeks ago. The new responsiveness of all widgets marked a major step in the evolvement of Widgetkit, and we thought it was about time for some icing on the cake. So, besides the regular bugfixes, we have put some work into the improvement of our Gallery widget.

Gallery Image Management

One of the new features in Widgetkit 1.1 was the drag and drop support for quick and easy gallery uploads. And, as promised back then, with Widgetkit 1.2 we have now added the missing functionalities to make image management with the Gallery widget a breeze. You can now upload and delete images as well as create and remove folders and their images. Finally you don’t rely on FTP or Joomla’s and WordPress’s media managers.

New Transition Effects

On top of the improved image management, we also added two fancy new effects for the Slideshow and Gallery widgets: Rotate and Scale. Both effects fully support touch devices and swiping as well as all modern browser versions. In all older browsers, they will be replaced by a gentle fade.

New Gallery Style

And last but not least, a new style offers you some more variety for your Gallery widgets. The Inside gallery style is a basic slideshow with a neat little thumbnail preview inside the image.

We have also given our ZOO demo packages a nice face lift. They come with our Master theme and with the Widgetkit preinstalled. Check out just how well our products integrate.

What’s next?

Since its initial release ZOO has improved constantly and will continue to do so. With the upcoming ZOO 2.7 we’ll drop Joomla 1.5 support, in favor of Joomla 3.0 support. This step will make it possible to remove quite a bit of deprecated code, which will result in a much cleaner code base.

Widgetkit Gets Responsive: „Widgetkit Gets Responsive

Tada! Today we are really proud to announce the first major Widgetkit release since we introduced it back in January. Widgetkit has improved constantly over the last 6 months, but lately we have worked hard on a really important new feature: A completely responsive design for Widgetkit. All widgets including all the fancy effects are now adapting perfectly for all different device resolutions. This goes along with our upcoming Warp 6.2 release which also features a completely responsive design. But besides bugfixes we added nice little features to Widgetkit 1.1.

Responsive Design

All widgets are now responsive! In the first place this is true for all the fancy transition effects like the fold, puzzle or KenBurns effect of the Gallery and Slideshow widget. But also all other widgets like the Slideset, Lightbox and Media Player adapt perfectly for smaller screen sizes. That way, the new Widgetkit is usable for all devices and is also future-proof.

To accomplish this goal, Widgetkit always checks each widget’s dimensions against its parent dom element dimensions. If a widget size is bigger than its parent element, Widgetkit automatically adapts the size of that widget. Besides the common resize techniques we also utilize new CSS3 features like transform to make all widgets look nice on any device.

Gallery Image Uploads

We added another cool new feature: Now Widgetkit has its own option to upload images to the Gallery widget. Just drag and drop images from your desktop to the Widgetkit UI and they will be uploaded to your server. We know there are still features missing like managing folders, etc. but this is our first step to improve the image management.

WYSIWYG Editors

And last but not least we now support the JCK Editor and Codemirror in the Widgetkit administration of Joomla. Thanks to the JCK Editor team for making this possible!

We will have a demo of the responsive Widgetkit online next week together with the Warp 6.2 theme release. But don’t hesitate to download Widgetkit now and take it for a test drive! We are excited to hear your feedback!

(Yoothemes) Widgetkit / Accordion alle geschlossen

Ich spiele nun schon einiger Zeit mit den Themes von Yoothemes und habe mittlerweile auch das Widgetkit (2.0) im Einsatz. Für eine Seite habe ich die im Widgetkit enthaltene Funktion „Accordion“ (zu deutsch: Akkordeon) verwendet. 
Soweit alles recht und gut, aber dann wollte ich, dass nicht immer der erste Teil davon bereits „aufgeklappt“ ist. Man kann mit einem sehr einfachen Eintrag in den Widgetkit-Optionen die deaktivierten. Einfach dort, wo man das „Akkordeon“ zusammengebaut hat beim Startindex „-1“ eingeben. Schon sind alle Bereiche geschlossen. 😉
 

Neue Modul-Position in Yoothemes-Themes WordPress einbauen

Hab mich in der letzten Zeit wieder etwas mehr mit WordPress, oder genauer gesagt, mit Layouts/Themes von Yoothemes.com befasst und auseinander gesetzt. Bei den Standard-Themes sind mir ab und zu die Module in die man Widgets ablegen kann zu wenig. Nachfolgend eine frei übersetzte Anleitung, wie man sich selbst weitere Modul dazu programmieren kann.

  1. In die Datei „template.xml“ muss die neue Position eingetragen werden. Wir nennen diese jetzt mal „top-c“.Die XML-Datei befindet sich unter WordPress in: wp-content/themes/theme_name.
  2. Als nächstes legen wir die Module-Layout-Optionen für die neue Modul-Position fest. Dazu benötigen wir die Datei config.xml, die ebenfalls im Theme-Root-Verzeichnis zu finden ist. 
  3. Nun wollen wir die neue Position des Moduls im Main-Template hinzufügen.Wir öffnen die Datei layouts/template.php. Am besten kopiert man sich den Code erstmal von einem bestehenden Modul, z.B. „top-b“.
  4. Als nächstes legen wir einen Standard-Style für die neue Modul-Position fest. dies geschieht über die Datei layouts/modul.php. Am besten erst einmal wieder den Code von „top-b“ kopieren.
  5. Als Letztes müssen wir noch die Modul-Höhe anpassen. die passiert in der Datei js/template.js. Suche dort nach einem bereits bestehenden „matchHeight()“ Eintrag und kopiere diesen.

Ich hab an der einen oder anderen Stelle in diesem Blog bestimmt schon den (WordPress / Joomla) Themes-Anbieter Yoothemes.Com erwähnt. Von ihm hat mich nun eine Mail erreicht, dass er seine Widget-Sammlung „Widgetkit“ in der Version 1.0 veröffentlicht hat. Voraus schicken möchte ich, dass man bei Yoothemes eine Mitgliedschaft abschliessen muss, damit man deren Themes und sonstige Tools verwenden darf. Folgende WordPress/Joomla-Memberships gibt es:

  • „Basic“ für 39,00EUR und  3 Monate Mitgliedschaft und einer URL
  • „Standard“ für 79,00 EUR und 12 Monate Mitgliedschaft und drei URLs
  • „Developer“ für 249,00 EUR und 12 Monaten Mitgliedschaft und unbegrenzten URL´s

Das zuvor schon kurz erwähnte „Widgetkit“ ist eine Sammlung von nützlichen und optisch sehr ansprechend gemachten Zusatz-Programmen für WordPress bzw. Joomla. Im Detail beinhaltet die Sammlung:

Ich selber setze schon länger die (WordPress) Themes von Yoothemes ein und mir gefallen diese optisch sehr gut und auch die „Benutzer“ macht viel Spaß. Das Widgetkit selbst hab ich auch auf dieser Seite installiert, aber nehme es relativ selten her, weil (so finde ich) es für einen klassischen Blog nicht so passend ist. Für anderen Seiten hingegen, die eher statisch aufgebaut sind, findet ich es eine klasse Erweiterung, mit der man so manchen Eye-Catcher setzen kann. 😉
